On a hill
I forgot to make a thread about this several weeks ago.
At work I actually use 5 different computers...which would make sense if I explained, I will spare you.
Anyway... Chrome had an update a few weeks ago and the first thing I noticed was it wanted me to "sign in" - I didn't see a way around it.
It will use your gmail account as a sign in... so you don't have to create a sign in.
Anyway... so I signed in with that since I use that same email on all computers.
A day later I had a WTF?? - moment.
I usually order some supplies in my second office, not out on the floor... but nevertheless I was doing it on a different computer, went to the website I order those supplies and I noticed...oddly.. the username and password were already there. I didn't remember ever using this computer to go to this site. Hmmm... in fact I know I haven't.
Then I remembered that "new sign in feature"... wait a fucking minute... Jesus Christ... I went to my bank website... my personal bank... and the fucking username and password was there!!! Never-ever have I logged into my bank account at work. I went to all 5 fucking computers and all of my logins were "conveniently" already there. I never asked for this!!! So I Googles this and sure enough - new "feature" of Chrome.. you can login to any computer and YAY! your logins are so conveniently there for you.
What a freaking security nightmare!!
SO I found where you can opt out of this feature and obviously did so.

You folks might want to do the same if you use Chrome anywhere.

Haven't used Chrome in quite a while for a few reasons, It's not even on any of my computers. It's shit like this where the option should be to opt in, not to have to opt out.

I wouldn't touch a Google product (or an Adobe product) with a ten foot pole.

Uh huh.... until someday you forget to log out while playing games at a friends house and he sees the computer is logged in as you and he can see everything you have been doing on that computer. All that filthy porn you watched... yep he now knows you go there.. wait... you said what on Reddit?? Maybe he will think it is funny to make some post on social media in your name.
Whoah... what's this?? You go to sex cam sites??

When I tried to use Google Chrome this morning at about 2:00 am I was told:

"The Application has failed to start because its side-by-configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command line systrace.exe too for more detail."

I have no idea what that means. Now at 8:20 am I am able to use Google Chrome. Has anyone had this problem? Does anyone know what was happening.

I'm having to assume you're using Windows............ If you are indeed using Windows then is a conflict in the C++ runtime libraries. There are 3 ways to fix this. The first is in the Command Prompt which for obvious reasons we will leave alone. The second is go to the Control Panel, select Programs and Features then select Google Chrome. On the line further up the screen you will see 'Organize. Uninstall, Repair. Select Repair and let it do it's thing.
The third way is to completely uninstall then reinstall Google Chrome.

Thanks for your advice. I will copy it and use it if I need it. I am using Google Chrome right now. It works.

I had to stop using it. Every time I would search and then click on a link the screen would change and warn me that it was a malicious website and should be avoided. Every time.
