the communists were a small group that spent its time fighting both the Japanese and the Nationalists making the fight even tougher for China to win. It was the nationalists that started the late war offensive and drobe the Japanese back not the communists they were too small an army and poorly equipped until the Soviets after the surrender of Japan turned over all the equipment captured from the Japanese
