Xi assumed trump would enter into negotiations that china can drag out for years and simply run out the clock

But trump didnt do that

He hit china with a haymaker they were not expecting

Expect the trade war with china to escalate

In the end, the tariffs will give the Chinese people more buying power.
Probably better jobs, too.

Pretty good! 👍
They'll get it hashed out.

Can you blame him? They are used to being able to play America like a fiddle.

Trump came right out and declared to Xi that there is room in this world for only one Alpha male. And it will not be him.

Maybe

If china drops it mercantile policy of raping the US economy and somehow turns its excess manufacturing capacity to domestic consumption that could be the result

But that would be a very tricky pivot to accomplish, assuming the communist dictatorship wants to try

China will lose a good customer but we lose out on cheap products. What do you want China to do? They make shit cheap we don’t.

What things do we make that they would buy if China dropped the tariffs?

Ps. China has a rule. If you want to sell to China you have to manufacture in China. Do you want to do this too? Then stop the war. Just tell them they have to manufacture here. If they say no, discussion over.

Anyways, this is all theater. As if this is the solution to maga for uneducated blue collar workers.

And with all the illegals gone, how come wages aren’t already going up?

Somebody else already posted this thread.

The problem is, of course, that Xi is in a much better position than Trump is, and he's not a crazy person.

So that's two big advantages he has right there.

You elitist piece of shyt. What proof do you have that blue-collar workers are uneducated?

The Reality of Blue-Collar Work

Blue-collar jobs cover a wide range of industries and positions, including electricians, plumbers, welders, carpenters, and mechanics, among others. These jobs require a variety of skills and levels of education, from apprenticeships and vocational training to certifications and associate degrees. While some blue-collar jobs may not require formal education, many require ongoing training to maintain or advance in their careers. Here are some examples of blue-collar jobs including construction workers, electricians, plumbers, mechanics, factory workers, and truck drivers.

Is cheap products your end all and be all?

if so, since we are a service economy how about cutting the wages of government workers to what their competitors in china receive?

How about forcing doctors and nurses in America to get the same pay as doctors and nurses in the Philippines?

Dont we all have a right to low cost medical care?

Lawyers who work for a chicken or a pig instead of money?

How much is college tuition in Haiti, assuming they have colleges?

Uneducated blue collar workers are hurting the most. You’re getting defensive dude.

Educated blue collar workers are doing fine.

You need t9 educate yourself. Google economic despair. You’ll see specifically uneducated blue collar whites are doing horrible in America. You sent all their high paying jobs to China and Mexico. Now they work at Walmart or dollar stores. Who buy from china

If we should be manufacturing something here, cost shouldn’t matter. Medicine? Make it here. Weapons? Chips? Planes? Ships? Make them here. Tariff those things.

/----/ Define uneducated blue collar workers? Is a high school diploma equal to uneducated? How about a vocational school graduate?
Did you know a licensed plumber is a professional, while an electrician is a trade - both requiring vocational school certificates?

That will not provide enough jobs for all the blue collar workers in this country

And it will not slow china from building warship and fighter jets thanks to profits from US trade

How about a lib with a masters degree in transgender studies working as a soda jerk at Starbucks?

In my opinion a skilled welder is far more educated

/-----/ I don't consider a masters degree in transgender studies, or a PhD in underwater basket weaving to be educated -- just indoctrinated.

With Giant Chop Sticks .

Chip Chop Chip .
They will cry out. Chippy Choppy Choo .
/---/ China has built her economy on exports, not consumers. When they lose the world's largest economy, the USA, it will hurt them.

And, did the Libtards squeel when Europe slapped tariffs on imported Chinese EVs? I didn;t hear a peep of protest.

Except they won't lose their biggest customer. Trump is going to blink on tariffs before Xi does.

He's already blinked on Tariffs with the rest of the world.

Agreed
But that is old hat to them .
They officially recognised their desire to become an internal consumer economy a couple of years ago .
Rather than be Export reliant

One clear advantage the Chop Stickers have is that they can float a Pandemic better than the US .
Meaning they can reduce the number of their consumers they need to keep satisfied, and likely kill off a good few more Americans by passing it on -- probably a more virulent mutation, or one with Greater Gain of Function -- as they say .

Then sweep in when they have wrecked the US$ to start farming the US for their own little Chipper C(S)hoppers .
They have not become the largest land owners in the US for fun .

Of course you say that. He gave them 90 days to come to a fair deal. A dyed-in-the-wool Trump hater like you won't give him credit for anything he does.
Trump has accomplished more on the trade war than any other president, dem or Repub has ever done. And you can't stand it.
