China unlikely to blink first... So the f*** what?

Who gives a shit if they blink? Are we finally being reeducated to seeking quality instead of quantity? The last time there was a trade backup the Chinese had to fill warehouses with a bunch of useless crap that sat and rotted in place. The same thing is going to happen again this time unless they find other countries to dump their cheap shit on.

It's already happening..... The auto garages are now calling in vendors that were nearly out of business because of Chinese competition. Snap-on, Mac tools..... And other brand names who have foolishly moved their factories over to China are being pushed aside for American made brands from local toolmakers that don't break when you put pressure on them

Channel lock, Klein tools, Leatherman and numerous others that have been considered too expensive to buy are suddenly within range.
The manufacturers that had the satisfy the EPA and OSHA and the department of commerce are now playing on a level playing Field.

Want to buy a blender that doesn't break the moment you crush ice with it? Stop buying from the companies that have moved their labor over to China and you won't have any problem. It will be easy to spot them now because the prices will go up precipitously on those items. It's highly unlikely that Walmart will swallow that whole tariff they will want to pass it along.

There will be a period of adjustment like with any addiction.... our addiction to cheap goods has not been good for us. There will be those that will cry about it..... Eat your broccoli cupcake..... It's a lot better than that vanilla frosted cake you've been living on for the past 20 years

Jo

OK, fine. But it takes money to buy $$ stuff. Many people are just getting by, even with the cheap imports. And the economy is a Ponzi scheme based on continual growth and spending. Time will tell how it all turns out. If we could have made things as cheaply as China, I think we would of.

Better get your thermal while you can...it is all made in Ghina!

Any cheap shit from China should have to be subject to all of our rules and regulations on labor and environment
You are clearly not in business otherwise you'd know that all of us importing companies either personally inspect or, more often, hire a company that inspects producer factories to ensure they comply with US laws no matter what country they are in. It's like 5th graders are trying to come into a complex business environment and come at us with 5th grade ideas. I cant wait for MAGA to die.

Benefit no. We got a financial sugar high from cheap Chinese shit. By supplanting American manufacturing it reduces the tax revenue to the federal government creating inflation which then devalues the dollar. Very similar to a drug addiction. Of course one of the big problems now is that all the old American manufacturing factory buildings have been converted to condominiums. We're a decade behind in industrial construction.

But yes people do want cheap stuff there's no question about that. That's why fentanyl has become so popular.... It's less expensive than cocaine.
In affect we will go into withdrawal like a drug addict. And there is no shortage of corrupted self-serving politicians who will skewer anyone who tells the truth on it and the does something about it. We see it now on DOGE as an example by the same people who supported it just a few years ago. The long-term effect is the fall of a nations who import much of their living on trade from other nations with vast manufacturing.

They don't comply with the pollution laws, they don't comply with the wage laws, they don't comply with the OSHA laws. Those three expenses alone add 30% to American manufacturers.

Texas doesnt pay the minimum wage that California requires nor does it have the taxes and environmental regulations that California has. You guys are all happy when companies move from California to Texas.

Should the US comply with Sharia Law to import Saudia Arabian oil?

You are just typing babbling nonsense. It is cheaper to make shit overseas. That benefits US consumers. If you dont like what Americans are getting paid to do the work they are ALREADY EMPLOYED and doing.. raise minimum wages. What is wrong with you? If you want Americans to make more... support them making more. But you HATE minimum wage laws and want to RAISE the price of shit they pay for things. What the fuck is wrong with you?

NONE of you think things through.

Right China has our EPA standards and labor laws.

Of course!

Keep defending China, on you it looks good

We had the longest stretch of low unemployment since 1969 and the cult had no idea.
They hate the same people who Trump hates and nothing else matters to these Ku Kluxxer wannabes. They swapped their sheets and hoods for red hats.

They take it for granted.

Right now, they’re crowing about shower heads.

Anything to entertain the mob.

I say we don't push them at all. We do whatever it is we need to do to level the playing field here and tell them with all good intentions that we can continue to trade with that we are going to protect local manufacturing. There's no need to aggravate them on purpose. If they decide to start following the same regulations that the EPA, OSHA, the FDA and the department of commerce place on american-made goods perhaps we can renegotiate.

However they will never do that.

It should be interesting to see how Walmart and harbor freight weather this storm.

Jo
Maybe Trump can get the hell rid of some of the whacked-out EPA regs to help level the playing field.

....

This is you admitting that your claim in the previous post, was nothing but pure shit talk.

This is the closest a leftard can come to being a grownup.

They need us more than the other way around. On the bigger scale

Did Snap-On move to china?

I didnt know that

$2 Trillion annual deficits with Trillion of untraceable payments is not "just fine"
As long as our War Department continues to get blank checks, the deficit will only get worse. Both parties are guilty of being cowards.

I found that Snap-On hand tools are still American made

I have my original set of snap on diesel tools that I got 40 years ago..... Broke the half inch drive once but got it replaced for free.
