Two people, including a child, were killed and two others were severely injured in a stabbing attack in a park in the southern German town of Aschaffenburg on Wednesday. A suspect from Afghanistan was arrested at the scene in Schoental park, German police said.

The police also said they did not immediately know the motive for the attack, but that it was not terrorism.

Well, it's good that they know what it wasn't.

What's nothing else then nonsense. Guns are controllable because nearly no one needs guns - not so knifes because everyone needs knifes. But the German laws had allowed to confiscate every knife at the Hamburg Central Station. This did not happen in this case because a 39 years old woman is totally untypical in case of knive attacks. In general, only random samples can be made. - And it's by the way nearly impossible to stop a knive attack with a knive. Someone who is doing so has to be well trained.

In the USA are weapons all around which would hurt in Germany not only the normal weapon laws but even the war weapon control laws. I'm sure one day in the USA someone will kill 1000 people within a very short time because of your strange weapon fetishism which the criminal terror organisation NRA started since the late 1950ies in the USA.

Schöntal (Aschaffenburg) in January 2025 is not Hamburg in May 2025. The Afghan who had attacked a nursery school group - also an unbelievable crime - is not capable of culpability. What exactly had been (and still is) his psychiatric sickness I do not know currently. I think he will be placed in a closed psychiatric institution where it will be checked every year whether he can be set free again.
