Chicago Mayor Johnson pushing a $21 per month “head tax”

Why are so few unable to competently do research ?

Your link list taxes levied against employees income not against their employers which is what Chicago is proposing to return to after it was previously eliminated.

Politics.

Many places have long had a tax like this. Blue towns, red towns, purple towns.

I'm sure that's true.

But Mayor Johnson's subjects are already being punished with tremendously high taxes on property, income and sales already

How much more do you think they should be crucified?

I think it's not really my concern as I do not live in Chicago.

Not that I can find an example of a business head tax still in effect the average for places that had them was $4 per month.

I wonder where Brandon came up with the $21 per month figure? That's a chunk of change right there.

That's right at a Billion a month for private business given the number of non-government workers in the city.
They don't have 47 million employees. You suck at math! :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg:

The reality of Prog cities is there is a detente. Areas kept the same with the taxes rising with winners and losers involved. So, at the peasant level some may pay an extra few hundred a year while others pay the same less or even more. Or a real increase int taxes takes a small chunk out of certain groups. Which may hurt. Progressives though a decade or so ago stirred the swirl somewhat with their defund the police and other agendas. Taxes did increase for it, and property was destroyed that paid taxes also. They seem to not take any lame for it though and are quiet on it and will deny it at some point. Trump is making sure they will not deny it. So a detente keeps the cities running depending on how quick the tax revenues come in. Philly must be different than Portland as an example although both are Prog dominated. Many Pennsylvanians think Philly should be part of New Jersey.

Anyway you use this, it's good news.
The black mayor thinks that employers will just shell out. After all, they can afford it. In reality it will be paid by payroll deduction. Employees will just make $21.00 a month less.

Why is this good news?

It will make Chicago a less attractive place to work, or hire workers. The spiral into dystopia will accelerate. Only total destruction can result in rebuilding.

I've already pointed out there are employment taxes in many cities so I'm really not interested in your rant.

Johnson is one of those people who has said so many wacky things that people have a tendency to ignore him. And where the hell did he get that pointy head.

Why are so few so unwilling to do a little research themselves?
LOL, A head tax is NOT an income tax moron.
A head tax, also known as a poll tax or capitation, is a fixed amount levied equally on every individual, regardless of their income or financial situation. In contrast, an income tax is based on an individual's earnings, where the tax rate can vary depending on income levels, often increasing as income rises. taxfoundation.org Wikipedia

I understand exactly what it is. I didn't post up a BS site that talked about INCOME tax when the tax is head tax that charges $21 a month whether you make minimum wage or megabucks. Run along troll, you've been exposed AGAIN, comrade.

15th post
Typical Democrat pontificating about how they are focusing on jobs and yet they pursue policy that chases jobs away. Democrats that arrogant or that stupid?

The failed leadershiT of the leftarded Dumbocraps continues with its policy of “if it breathes, moves or exists: tax it.”

Then tax it again. And again. And again.
