Typical Democrat pontificating about how they are focusing on jobs and yet they pursue policy that chases jobs away. Democrats that arrogant or that stupid?

Many places have long had a tax like this. Blue towns, red towns, purple towns.
Seattle has a head tax that was implemented in 2018 but was repealed later that year due to backlash. The tax aimed to address homelessness and affordable housing issues.

“The Head Tax is a job killer,” “Eliminating the head tax is the right thing to do for businesses big and small and it’s the right thing to do to secure Chicago’s future. With this step, Chicago has become an even better place to start a business and we’ve enabled those businesses to create more jobs for Chicagoans.”

- Rahm Emmanuel on the elimination of the previous Chicago head tax

That's income tax....Not a business head tax.

I tried looking up cities with a business head tax and nothing came up.

What's next for Brandon.....A Poll Tax? That's where the idea of business head taxes came from you know.

It's a tax on people working in the city. Matters none what it is called in any specific city.

I don't get it. Do you pax the tax when you buy head or when you sell head?

As an Illinois resident, I can tell you that taxes in this state are high everywhere, largely as a result of Chicago pushing them higher every year. Chicago is my favorite big city in the U.S., but they have repressive taxation that filters throughout the rest of the state. It has forced two Fortune 100 companies based here to move their HQ to Texas. There are probably more than that though.

Low IQ Johnson.

Not that I can find an example of a business head tax still in effect the average for places that had them was $4 per month.

I wonder where Brandon came up with the $21 per month figure? That's a chunk of change right there.

That's right at a Billion a month for private business given the number of non-government workers in the city.

Taxes are generally higher in larger cities.

Politicians in Chicago dream up new ways to levy new taxes, the worst part is their insane property taxes in Chicago filter downstate where the quality of life is not the same, and there is no reason for the high taxes.

They are not as high as Chicago, but higher than comparable regions in the Midwest.

Why are so few so unwilling to do a little research themselves?
Why are so few unable to competently do research ?

Your link list taxes levied against employees income not against their employers which is what Chicago is proposing to return to after it was previously eliminated.
