Nowhere in the article does it say cops can't pursue murder subjects.

And nowhere in the article was it said they they were ordered to maintain the pursuit.....They were ordered (forced) to end it.

Fire the officer that "reportedly" said that.

They are just thinking ahead. Why use up all that expensive gas chasing and apprehending the murderer just so the DA can release them to continue killing? It is Chicago after all.

Did you ever actually know what you're talking about when you say something or ever read?

However, when the Charger and police entered the suburb of Cicero, “a Chicago police supervisor immediately terminated the chase, leading to a series of outbursts from officers who disagreed with the decision not to go after a carload of possible murderers.”

Being told by your supervisor not to do something means you can't do it.

Chicago already has a law they can't chase suspects on foot. So why not just not pursue any criminals?

They do NOT have a law that states the police can not chase murder suspects. Just the same as there is no law that states they can't chase murder suspects in any case.
