March for our lives? LMFAO! If it was about a genuine risk of death, they'd be protesting any of the dozens of things that cause more children to die than school shootings. These kids have a better chance of being struck by lightning than murdered by a school shooter, but the media has whipped up quite a frenzy over this phenomenon.
We can't control lightning. We can control guns.
You can't control lightning, no, but you can't stop every shooting victim from being shot, either. I highly doubt that you're under the impression that you're going to be able to end gun violence altogether, but rather that you're going to be able to cut down the number of people killed.
Likewise, we could, theoretically, pass laws about standing under trees during rainstorms, or about standing out in open fields during the same. We could have laws regarding people's vicinity to lightning rods.
We could also pass laws to cut down on traffic deaths, we could pass laws to curb peoples' shitty health habits. Lots of things kill more kids than AR's, but you're only marching about AR's. Could it be that it's more about the political nature of the cause of death than about actually creating a meaningful difference in death statistics?
