It looks like the home field advantage in the CFSP playoffs is insurmountable. Should we continue with this farce?

You mean the higher seed won in all the games? Do you think a neutral field setting would have made any difference in the outcome of those games? I dont think playing in Happy Valley made the SMU QB throw 2 pick sixes. It wasn't the Shoe that kept Tennessee from gaining a single yard from scrimmage and falling 3 TD's behind in the first quarter. Clemson played a good game against Texas and if they can score when Texas stopped them on the goal line maybe they can win that game but I dont think they lost because they were playing in Texas and not some neutral place.

I think all of those games would have been closer if played at neutral sites.

Home field means something. It doesn't mean 3-4 scores.
Ohio State's average home scores prior to the playoff were +30. Its average away scores were +15. Its home field differential was +15.
Edit: I forgot to include the home loss to Michigan (-3).

Most of the good teams on their schedule they played away. Oregon, PSU etc. On the other hand at home, they played Akron, W Mich, Purdue and Marshall. All of whom they ran up 45+ points against. They also played 8 home and 4 away for some reason. All that aside, why wouldn't the higher seed get to play at home? Take out Akron, W Mich, and Marshall (the cupcakes) and the difference between home and away is 10 points. The difference in difficulty of opponent accounts for that delta.

Why not give teams incentives to win? Home field should be given to the better team who earned it

Seems to be two tiers of teams in this playoff. The second tier teams are SMU, Indiana, Clemson, AZ St., and Boise. We'll see how those last two do as bye teams. Sort of silly.

Perhaps some of the teams included were frauds in the 12-team playoff.

So

2015 FSU and Oregon
2016 OU and Mich St
2017 Wash and OSU
2018 Clemson
2019 ND and Alabama*
2020 OU and Clemson*
2021 ND, Clemson and OSU*
2022 Cincy, Mich and Alabama*
2023 TCU*
2024 Texas and Wash*

All frauds losing by more than 2 scores and in most cases 3. To include 6 teams playing in the NC game which means 60% of the time one of the teams playing in the NC game is a fraud.....

This entire narrative about the 12 team PO is fucking stupid.

*denotes losing in the National Championship game
