Ummmmm --- it sort of is, you know.

King Henry VIII tried that on, said HE was head of the church, but it didn't really work.

If the Vatican isn't the Catholic church then they have dissention within the ranks or the flock.

On the question of there being more than two genders, the Catholic church had no choice but to accept otherwise. For three reasons:

1. There are more than two genders. (science) How Many Genders Are There According to Science: Breaking the Myth

2. The world is on the side of accepting tolerant views now.

3. The Catholic church now accepts Darwinian evolution as the 'literal' fact, as opposed to creation which needs to be only allegory and rhetoric.
