Thirty-five people were killed in southern China after a man plowed his car into crowds exercising at an outdoor sports center on Monday evening, according to police, in the country’s deadliest known attack on the public in a decade.

Another 43 people were injured and hospitalized in the rampage in the southern city of Zhuhai, local police said in a statement Tuesday.

Police said the driver, identified as a 62-year-old man surnamed Fan, was apprehended while trying to flee the scene. An initial investigation suggested he was unhappy with the outcome of a divorce settlement, they added.

I remember in 2020 during the George Floyd protests a big crowd of people were standing on a highway blocking traffic---

The problem with EVs are simple Jack:

1. It takes 2000 pounds of lithium battery to store the same energy as 93 pounds of gasoline.
2. While fuel is just potential energy needing released, battery energy is STORED ACTIVE energy held in suspension.
3. It takes a great deal of power to move a car efficiently at high speeds for 300 miles.
4. EV batteries do that with a HIGH VOLTAGE (300-400V) high current battery.
5. All that keeps that energy from instantaneously recombining and shorting are numerous thin insulators.
6. Insulators may form defects or be damaged in a car impact.
7. All it takes is ONE failure at an insulation point or at a connecting point to develop an excess of HEAT.
8. Heat leads to material breakdown of the adjoining cell.
9. The breakdown of the cell causes a release of hydrogen gas.
10. The hydrogen gas and heat leads to the battery getting hotter and burning faster.
11. Contact with water accelerates the burning.
