Car repossessions are expected to hit 3 million this year, their highest rate since the 2009 recession

All thanks to the government.
And retarded people want them to have more control of our lives. Its insane!
Mandated EPA rules have turned vehicles into overcomplicated garbage loaded with software issues, failing small turbo charged engines, and questionable 8-10 speed transmissions costing thousands to the consumer. All for a measly couple miles per gallon. Safety and mechanical recalls are haunting every manufacturer and buying anything post covid is a literal crap shoot.

Turbo engines are notorious for blown head gaskets, and if turbos fail it will cost several thousand to repair. They also require spark plug replacement at 40-50 thousand miles due to the higher combustion pressure.
Cylinder deactivation eats lifters and cam shafts. Chevy and Stellantis have that issue.
Start/stop technology is now also being blamed for oil starvation of the main bearings.

Toyota is losing its reliable badge as the TT6 is proving to be a nightmare for new owners after dumping probably the most reliable V8 on the market.

So glad I scored a used V8 Tundra that has lost zero value in the two years I have owned it. I could sell it today for what I paid 2 years ago even after adding 45 K miles, because demand for a used 8 cylinder has risen because of the crappy turbo charged lawnmower engine put in a 70,000 dollar truck.

Makes no environmental sense to build a truck that lasts 150,000 miles when the previous generation was known as a 500,000 mile vehicle.

The average price of a car has risen to $50,000+ thanks to the blob’s tariffs.

Those are the facts and they are not in dispute.

Your name-calling only means you can’t refute my facts. I don’t envy your position...but then again, nobody forced you to try to play a losing hand.

Take your loss like a man (if you can).

I don't expect you to understand that there is no reason to dispute your facts because they are irrelevant which is what you have continued to fail to grasp, nor do I expect you to stop a very pathetic attempt to try and accomplish something just as equally useless, because you're a retarded class clown and that's how you roll.

Since many of the parts they put into those cars come from overseas...yes.

And the average price of a car is over $50,000 thanks to your blob and his tariffs.

Now, lets see if you revert to your syndrome....

Lying Stain. Flu launch, stolen 2020, obiden 2.0 inflation raised the prices (before any tariff add-ons) you dumb tree ape.. thx obiden is correct response to all.

Car dealers have to be more careful who they allow to buy? Reduced sales on Obiden2. They left a mess for certain//

It's sad that it is so hard to find a decent V8 in a lot of vehicles nowadays. I was considering a new truck but cannot find one I like that will offer a V8, although I can find trucks that I don't necessarily like with a decent motor. Just the same, I went ahead and decided to get a little work done to my current truck with a V8 and try to put another 100k miles on it.

I mean it is 11 years old and could probably use a new paint job after many seasons of love bugs eating the paint or coatings on any surface facing forward. It's not bad, but the little marks drive me nuts. But it still runs well, and I have taken care of it inside and out.

Oh, and on an anecdotal note, if anyone is looking into a Dodge with their new inline 6, I personally know someone that bought one, and it is a nightmare already requiring major repairs more than once.

Here’s a thought:

Don’t buy a car you can’t afford.

In large quantities (such as car prices) AVG cost is a meaningful stat. Stain got one right almost.

Often median price is a more accurate measure what the masses are buying. AVGcanbe distorted by a $1million Rolls Royce car or Lamborghini.

Median value would be the most commonly sold price.

That number is expected to almost double this year, which is not a sign of a booming economy. Furthermore, the average price of a new vehicle is now $50.000, which is out of reach for many people. Yes, people can buy used cars, but with used cars comes increased maintenance and repair costs. One thing I have always wondered about is why the consumer can't buy directly from the manufacturer? Why do we need to go through a dealership, a middleman, instead of buying directly from Ford? That would cut down immensely on the price of a new car and make them more affordable, yet I never hear any of the politicians talking about this.

An increasing number of Americans are falling behind on their car payments, mimicking a trend commonly seen at the start of major economic downturns.

Last year, 1.73 million vehicles were repossessed, which is the highest number since the year following the 2008 financial crisis, according to a report by the CFA seen by the Wall Street Journal.

"Delinquencies, defaults, and repossessions have shot up in recent years and look alarmingly similar to trends that were apparent before the Great Recession," said the report.

Delinquency, which refers to being late on loan repayments, can devastate investor confidence and lead to an economic crash.

New cars are overpriced thanks in part to government regulations

But gas prices are falling and that is sure to boost the ecomomy

Here’s a thought, get rid of the tariffs.
Great, so if you buy one of those "average cars" for over $50,000, you're dumber than you look.

I don't hate Captian Mayhem commercials on mute. That is all.

V8? How the **** old are you?

Very hard to live and work in CA without a well maintained running car. Just SHUP stain. We have to pay for the Mexicans, dopers and blacks too.

Illegals fill the roads uninsured in 78 Bonneeville V8 belching fumes, brakes squealing in stop & go with low rider song blasting out. Un licensed too

A little cheese with that whine?

Ram sales were so bad on the Hurricane I6 they brought back the 5.7 Hemi.
All I have drove the last 20 years is a V8 including my newer to me 2019 Tundra. Which is American made in San Antonio Texas, supplied with parts from over 24 Toyota manufacturing plants right here in the USA.
A proper truck is an 8 cylinder.
Packing lawnmower engines with turbos may increase efficiency, torque and HP, but are subjected to extreme heat, pressure and more moving parts and software to fail.

People got shit to tow and haul and don't wish to be stranded with a camper or boat in tow because some stupid fuel management system bricks the vehicle.

Thanks, and not arguing with the fact that some trucks still come with a V8 engine. The problem I am having is finding the truck I want with the motor I want, and yeah I am a little picky when spending that kind of money on a vehicle.

Also, the article you posted is from October of 2024 and has a picture of Dodge Ram. Right now, if you order a Ram 1500, they won't even give you the option of a V8 (the option may return in late 2026). When you contact them, they will offer a V6 twin turbo, or their new inline 6 turbo. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I personally know someone that got the 1500 Rebel with the new inline 6 turbo, that has taken it back for major repairs twice, and it's fairly new.

Plus, the only reason I know most of the current stuff, is because I was serious about looking for a new truck, and I know how to shop for a truck as well as what is available. Some of the problem is that I may have to go with a truck from a manufacturer I don't like and have no brand loyalty to when I do decide to buy.

Thanks again though.
