I spoke with a Republican the other night who claimed he lost his house due to medical bills for his late wife. I'm surprised he would still be a Republican thinking that's OK for people to lose houses because someone became ill.

Of course, most conservatives don't care about 'fair,' they just care about adhering blindly their errant dogma.

In this case, for most conservatives, going bankrupt from medical bills is a 'good' thing – it acts as an 'incentive' to others to work hard and be successful so you can afford medical care; if you fail to be successful you 'deserve' to go bankrupt as a consequence of your 'failure.'

Clearly conservative economic dogma is as failed and perverted as socialist fiscal dogma – different sides of the same coin.

I personally don't have to assign any particular position or policy to the absolute foolishness that government can achieve an unnatural and unachievable state of fairness.

You stray too far off the reservation when you try to assign value to things that do not equate to fairness at all.
