If you live in a cave, you might not of heard of the DOJ raising a stink because of LA county's violation of the peoples' Second Amendment rights. It takes over two years to get a permit to even own a weapon. What I would like to know why it has taken so long for the Federal Government to jump in allowing these states (and there are a lot of them) to ignore the Federal Constitution trashing Americans' rights. It's not just the Second Amendment but the whole Bill of Rights and it didn't start yesterday. In California you must register a gun, any gun, three times. Once with the city, once with the county, and once with the state. At each comes fees and time.
In 1974, after discharged from Army I returned to my hometown, Vallejo, California. I was rounding a corner in a peaceful neighborhood into at least 12 highway patrol cars that pulled me over for a 'Safety Cheak'. At the time and still today every car and truck were safety inspected once a year at registration or you couldn't get it registered, then given a sticker you placed on the driver's side window. My car was registered and had the sticker. The 'safety inspection' included a search of my trunk, glove box, and under my seats. I moved from the state two weeks later. This was the town I had road around with a .22 straped to my handle bars of my bike in my youth without a problem. Today in California they would arrest not only me but my mother and father.
My wife loves the beaches and still goes to California but it is without me. Last time she went my daughter went with her. My daughter was holding an unlit cigarette and was given a ticket for smoking in a none smoking area. The cop said he smelled the smoke from that unlit cigarette, Smell Police. What burned me the most is they went to the court house and paid the $100 fine. The ads on TV say come to California but I wouldn't take a car with out of state plates. The freeways might be racetracks but with Arizona plates you can expect a speeding ticket for 70 in a 65 while everyone else is going 80. I'm surprised the Feds haven't invaded the state the way that have abused these people's basic rights. I am even more baffled at the people allowing their rights to be trashed beyond repair.
The photos with this post shows some joker holding a book of California Gun Laws. What the Hell! The book is larger than the Bible. Maybe it has something to do with California having the highest paid teachers in the nation, but the students are 48th in math and 49th in reading. The old saying " If you don't know your rights then you have none" must apply.
When the people of California couldn't water their lawns, and the crops were dying in the fields from no water California was still dumping half their fresh water in the San Francisco Bay. It was to save a none native fish call the Smelt. A while latter the state spent a ton of money to do a count of the Smelt in the Sacramento River. The count was one. That is one Smelt.
Vallejo was home of Mare Island where the Navy built war ships and nuclear submarines. Clinton closed that base with its two large dry docks. Since that closing Vallejo has had a rough time of it money wise. The West Coast reserve fleet, at the close of WWII had over 300 ships docked there. The remaining few ships that remained there California said were a danger to the environment. Instead of taking the ships, a 10 mile trip, to the dry docks in Vallejo they repainted the ships and towed them to Brownsville, Texas to have them scraped.
This kind of crap you can't make up. I don't blame these rich, politicians. These aholes have always been around, even after being recalled they stay. It's time to put the blame on the people that elect this scum to office. When it comes to California and all these other states that abuse their population, they all share the same story. They are all Shit Holes getting worse by the hour, thousands of homeless, high taxed, crime infested and ran by democrats. The link of time ran by democrats the bigger the Shit Holes they are. That's fact and there is no cure for stupid, except genocide!
