I don't follow the sport much, but I have watched Sinclair perform on the big stage with great success time and again, but falling just short. Many wanted Canada to win for her sake alone.

They get it done in penalty kicks when they were behind, the Swede kicked the ball high and wide on the clinching shot. Canadas goalie basically stole the show and had a bit of a classic American attitude of supreme confidence and even cockiness (which America could use more of today on the world stage), which works well under pressure.

It's just a game and teams win and lose that is part of playing a game.

Well done, Canada. No Rappinoe-like cancers on the Canadian squad to my knowledge.
Six gold, six silver, ten bronze.

Now you have to get even since the US women took the gold over Canada in 2018.

There is no equivalence between America's soccer loss and the Canadians losing to the US women
in the gold medal game in 2018.
The American loss is a matter of mostly indifference, especially given the woke element on the team.

But the Canadian's loss of in "their" game to a bunch of American interlopers must have been a matter of
much wailing and gnashing of teeth I imagine, in the Canadian heartland.
