The tariffs on Canada have been quite harmful to Trump as Canada has not only been a close friend of the U.S. for decades but is a loved country by Americans.

The tariffs being levied on Canada are not only hurting Americans in their pocketbook but is causing Trump to lose support in a big way!

How do Canadians feel about us now?

Canadians’ opinions of the U.S. and its president are at or near historic lows

Canadians express little confidence in Trump to do the right thing regarding world affairs or to handle several key global issues effectively. And a majority of Canadians now see the U.S. as the country that poses the top threat to their own – a marked shift from 2019, when China was most often named as the top threat.

AI Overview

Approval for U.S. leadership in Canada, and by extension for Donald Trump, is at a low point. A Pew Research Center survey from June 2025 found that only 16% of Canadian women and 27% of Canadian men had confidence in Trump. A Gallup poll in May and June 2025 found that 15% of Canadians approved of U.S. leadership, a figure statistically in line with his first term, while 79% disapproved.

From October 2024:

Going after Canada the way Trump has done, is pure stupidity on his part!

They could always become part of the U.S., problem solved.

Wow, a year old article to bolster your lies.

You stoop to yet a new low.

In the course of about two months in early 2025, America went from being a trusted ally, a good friend, and a provider of global stability to an unreliable predator nation who will throw anyone under the bus on a whim. The only reason countries are still doing business with us is that they have not yet found a replacement.

We're now the world's 7-11 store -- convenient, transactional, expensive, dangerous.

Canadians are subject to their own gov't controlled msm as evidenced by the misleading Reagan ad that prompted Trump to stop trade negotiations. The Reagan library reported the ad took Reagan's remarks out of context---hence the removal of the ad. Doesn't sound like the Canadians are too credible.

Now you're talking stupid...like a Democrat.
You are the one that is stupid. Canada in an independent nation that does NOT want to be part of the U.S. As such, your initial post saying that the problem would be resolved if they became part of the U.S. was plain ridiculous.

The only way to do that is by invading them!

There has not been a referendum in Alberta specifically asking about joining the U.S. However, there is a growing separatist sentiment in Alberta, with some groups advocating for independence from Canada, and discussions about potential future referendums are ongoing. Indiatimes BBC

Canada is operated by oligarchs who use tariffs to create monopolies.

Canadians are slave to the WEF

If Canada dropped their tariffs, they would be flooded with cheap goods.

Except when you consider that Alberta has seen discussions about a referendum on secession from Canada, particularly following the 2025 federal election, which has reignited separatist sentiments. The main issues driving this movement include perceived power imbalances with Ottawa and a desire for greater autonomy over Alberta's resources.

Additionally, if the referendum vote goes n favor of separation, both British Columbia and Saskatchewan will follow.
The question would remain how Ottawa would handle it. Would there be a Civil War, or would the Commonwealth disintegrate?
There is even noise coming from Newfoundland about the Commonwealth,

I guess he can't count on the Kanuck vote for his third term.

Oh well.
