It passed officially. What do we call a system in which civil liberties are suspended and it will go back to normal at the advice of the mighty Security Industrial Complex?

I wasn't lying to you all over the last 10 years. THIS is Canada. Notice CBC won't allow comment on the article discussing the loss of their civil liberties?

Emergencies Act passes crucial House of Commons vote with NDP support

A motion affirming the Liberal government's decision to invoke the Emergencies Act passed a crucial House of Commons vote Monday, ensuring the expansive powers contained in the act remain in use by authorities thanks to parliamentary support from the New Democrats.

While the powers contained in the Emergency Act took effect immediately, the Liberal government needed to seek approval for its decision to invoke the act from the House of Commons within seven days. If that vote had failed, the emergency declaration would have been revoked.

Conservative MPs in the House booed and shouted "shame" when the first NDP MPs stood up to vote in favour of the motion. The Conservatives, however, applauded Bloc Québécois MPs when they stood to support the Conservatives.

The Liberals cheered loudly, drowning out heckles from the Conservatives when Green MP Elizabeth May voted in favour of the motion, which passed by a vote of 185 to 151.

Immediately after the vote passed, interim Conservative Leader Candice Bergen stood up and tried to enter a motion recalling the use of the Emergencies Act, but that motion was ruled out of order.

The CBC, predictably, does not say specifically which aspects of the so-called Emergency Powers act they voted to keep permanent.

So basically the Canadian report is a bunch meaningless word salad, other than just waving a big " because fuck you; that's why" finger.

For those who want to know what they're keeping in place, since Canadian press desn't seem interested in reporting on it specifically, here it is...

Canada's Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland, who also serves on the World Economic Forum's (WEF) board as a governing member, wants to make the financial surveillance/ seizure system permanent

Those that don't read and learn History are doomed to repeat it.

So far we have stopped them here.........they will push until PANDORA's box will be opened. They will NOT LIKE WHAT COMES OUT OF IT.

Very sad. I SPIT on Canada and I will not invest another dime in anything Canadian until Trudeau is ousted and sanity is restored to the government.

Really, what needs to be done cannot be spoken.

But it's not my country. So they get what they deserve.

As always, those who participate in coercion understand very little of their role in it. And they know absolutely nothing of its consequence.

Well...heh heh...until it's their turn on the chopping block. And their turn will come. Just as sure as God made little green apples. I dunno why the coercive fools cheerleading for fascism by definition think they'll be spared, and that it will only affect the other guy. It's laughable that they think that way. That mindset certainly reflects a profound ignorance of both reality and history itself.

You live in a police state now.

Weak responses to civil disobedience have hurt Canada for years. New gas pipelines are increasingly stymied by blockades, often by green or aboriginal activists. On Thursday men wielding axes attacked a pipeline drill site and its workers in British Columbia. That’s worse than anything the truckers have done.

In early 2020 Mr. Trudeau urged dialogue with pipeline blockaders. Facing Black Lives Matter protests in violation of Covid rules in June 2020, Mr. Trudeau joined in. But with the truckers, the Prime Minister refused to meet or compromise. Even as province after province ends Covid restrictions, he drags his feet. Opinion | Trudeau’s Destructive ‘Emergency’

You've told us for years how bad it is in Canada. Kudos to you for being all over this. :113:

I'd really like to see Canada return to freedom. Until they do, I will be boycotting Canadian club as well as Canadian bacon.

Canada is lost.

If you didn't vote them in, you cannot vote them out.
Let that sink in.
