I think he's just jealous because he doesn't even have so much as a CIB.

There's also the fact the hegseth is pretty much the lest respected sec-def in history.

I'm going out on a limb here and saying you're using words you don't know the meaning of.

If you're trying to sow discord in the ranks with this broad plea to "ignore illegal orders" you are planting doubt in the minds of our military.

That is why there is a code for that in the UCMJ. If a court martial is what he needs, then so be it.

This tribal political stuff needs to stop.

Perfect.

You do realize that SecDef is a higher rank than a Captain.

I'd love to see that humiliation, but I don't think it will actually get that far.

Good. They should be on their toes, watching for illegal orders.

What needs to stop is Trump testing the limits of how he can illicitly use our military.

I’m not sure how to say it. Never seen the word before, honestly.

Looks French, is the final ‘t’ silent?

Because not telling them what orders are illegal leaves it open to interpretation.

And what happens when people begin interpreting? Misunderstanding, discord, dissent, unwanted strife, misguided mutinies.

They knew precisely what they were doing when they posted those videos.

Too funny.

1. He is not illicitly using our military.
2. Every order is presumed to be lawful because otherwise, the breakdown of command would be immediate.
3. This is pure paranoia from the left.

The matters of legality belong in court or a hearing. Not addressing troops through a video. There can be no other purpose but sedition in these cowardly acts.

He needs to take it from people who know the military better than he does.

Kelly tossed any respect I had for him down the toilet this is scumbag stunt.

And every single recruit is told the same thing, as part of their training and has been for a long time. Looks like it's always left up to interpretation, then, and nothing at all has changed, and you're reaching.

And what happens when people begin interpreting?

Well, as one might guess, since literally every recruit is told exactly what they said as part of his or her training, someone thought of that already.

It's in the code. You can't just defy an order because you think something SHOULD be unlawful. Only if it is.

You've totally missed the point, as always.

Well your limb just broke, because I am doing no such thing. Reminding troops of the contents of the UCMJ is not a bad thing in any way, shape, or form.

Get over it.

And presuming you aren't military or retired military, how the f**k would you know that?

The general rule is to obey orders presuming their legality until told otherwise.

Darkwind is correct that if servicemen and women began acting on their limited legal expertise as per their orders, the chain of command would collapse.

How churlish.

They didn't even quote any part of the UCMJ to them. They spewed broad statements at them.
