I've been on other sites that allow that, and it causes other problems. When Dennis blocks Ernie, Ernie then creates a duplicate thread with a very similar thread title.

It's better the way this site has it.

The ignore feature only prohibits you from seeing what is posted by the one who you put on ignore. If the same poster is disruptive or derailing a thread, report them. But if you can’t see what they post, there should be no problem.

I've seen a site or two that allowed users to threadban other users. It really becomes a new way to troll more so than anything constructive.
