Can someone define "Woke" for me?

"Woke" has become the new boogieman for the alt-right. I know the term is used to cover numerous things they dislike.

But can anyone tell me exactly what the term means?

It used to mean waking up to see things you didn't see before. In that regard, Ashes Targetpractice ranted, "I am woke, man!"

Now the right uses the term as a pejorative against the left to replace the their previous favorite phrase, "politically correct."

I have never had a problem with the woke, as long as they get themselves red-pilled as well.

If they don't? They tend to fit that second definition, get all sanctimonious and live in cognitive denial as well . . .

The "alt-right"....can you define that term for us please?

HOW DO YOU FIGURE? The Left are doing all of the woke stuff! Are you seriously going to stand there and tell us you don't see any difference between the democrats of today vs. five-ten years ago? Thirty years ago? Fifty years ago???

Retarded, insane, nonsensical bullshit that spews out from the left.

So it is aimed at people who decide for themselves and are free to live their lives?

Tradition is fine. But it is not a requirement.

But if your definition is correct, it seems a pretty ridiculous reason to hate them.
I don't hate them. Neither do I plan to let them have the ground, unfought.

From what I have seen, Woke seems to be aimed at same sex marriage, trannies, women deciding not to have kids, homosexuals, etc etc.

Kinda doubtful that any of those things will cause the collapse of the USA.

And some traditions should be ignored. Like women not being able to work outside the home, men being allowed to hit their wives because it is no one else's business, or forcing women to stay in marriages.
These people are the ground forces for regime change. They are one hell of a lot more destructive than you admit. EVERYTHING that has been a source of cohesiveness in our nation is under attack by these people. You seem willing to ignore that. The worst possible punishment for you will be if they succeed...

I seriously hope you're being sarcastic here. If this is really what you think....
Yeah? It most assuredly is what I believe. When mobs begin tearing down historical statues of people like Frederick Douglass because they believe he was a racist, right along side Confederate Generals, that is sheer ignorance being given voice to be vicious and destructive. No one intentionally tries to destroy history unless they want to rewrite it for purposes of their own.

Do you think tearing down a statue is "destroying History"?
It's not. History is still there, it's still being written, what is written changes all the time. Statues or no statues that doesn't change.

Statues make no difference.

Here's a question. Should the US put up statues of Adolph Hitler?
Should the US put up statues of the Taliban?

140,000 US military personnel died in the Civil War. People literally fighting against the US government, against the Constitution, against all of that. Hitler fought against the US, put up a statue of him, his troops killed US military personnel, same as the people represented in the statues being torn down. The Taliban killed WAY LESS Americans than the Confederacy. Do we not put up a ibn Laden statue because he killed less, or do we put up a statue because he killed less? I'm confused.

The fun part is as well, you're talking about people trying to destroy the American way of life, I suppose, and then you're wanting statues of people who were literally trying to destroy America.

How do you get around such a HUGE contradiction?

My best shot: The behaviors, attitudes and tactics surrounding the weaponization of Political Correctness and Identity Politics.

I actually, fully agree with much of the pushback in principle, but as always, their pushback is in the form of simplistic, caveman hysteria and paranoia. Which, as always, ends up being counterproductive and inflammatory.

For me it's the use of narratives. Both sides have their manipulators who have their narratives that they're forcing people to accept, otherwise they're [insert insult]. People are too ignorant to get that this is what is happening, or too ignorant to be able to fight it. They think they're fighting it, but they're actually doing it.
