If the internet had eyes, all of them would currently be on the Ichikawa City Zoo in Chiba, Japan, where a rejected baby monkey has become an unlikely sensation.

Why do we care? Checklist: Small animal? Check. Cute and adorable? Check. Heartbreaking circumstances? Check. An underdog plot of a Disney short? Check. Catchy name? Check.

Who Is Punch The Monkey?​

Punch (Punch-kun) is a baby macaque at Ichikawa City Zoo in Chiba, Japan. Born in July 2025, Punch was rejected by his mother, and seemingly, the rest of his macaque tribe.



Bullying, it seems, is not a human invention—clips and images of Punch being attacked by older macaques began to be shared across social media, making commentators emotional (and igniting genuine rage against the offending monkeys).

When it comes to adorable animal clips, it doesn’t take much for the internet to slide into anthropomorphism, but in this case, it’s hard not to relate to Punch’s plight.



The little monkey resembles a furry human toddler, and the fact that he is often seen clutching his stuffed IKEA orangutan, clearly cuddling it for comfort, is genuinely heartbreaking.

Will the Chinese take the monkey to a wet market and eat him?

To us, life isn't so precious that a fetus, a seed, can't be aborted.

Also, life isn't so precious that like you, we would let our loveone's suffer in their last days. We've all seen love ones suffer because it's against the law to put them to sleep. They have to slow die because of your religious beliefs. At least in most US States anyways.

Maybe if you were Carly in Michigan you'd have a different opinion about it. You know, the whole having to carry it 9 months and then raise it and pay for it for the next 18 plus years, with Republicans making a society where you have to pay for it all yourself. Half the people who are anti abortion and picketing are women who've gotten abortions and just feel guilty about it. But if they had to do it again, they'd abort again. Animals at SPCA or an almost dead beached whales get better treatment than American homeless or jailed inmates in most cases. With food water blankets toys bones pillow beds on & on.

Dogs cats all get seperate cages, medical, walks, food, daily visitors, presents etc. Paid SPCA vets will operate non-stop to save a random dog with a tumor. A black man given Tylenol told to SHUP and go back to your cell.

Homeless get to sleep on discarded cardboard on cement with bugs, humans and yes dogs harassing them.

Jail cells in county lockup may be 27 Blacks, thirteen Mexican and ten whites all co-existing dormitory style...bunk beds.

Stray dogs have it better in lockup. Yet CA has $1T homeless funding over a decade?
