Different refineries in CA seem to go down for repairs or are shut down due to fires about this time every year resulting in higher fuel prices. It's been that way for decades.

Head shaking, really. California is one giant third world swamp. Every idea they have ever had has met with disaster. Sure, the rich get richer but all of these policies they have tried were supposed to stop the rich from getting richer. And now that democratic policies have made the rich richer, those rich are now fleeing the state in droves.

The idea of a Costa Rican canal was thought of some years ago. The southern cities can build up on oil sent there and new refineries can be built. Also another idea is sending the oil to Mexico building terminals there. Then pipelines to Texas and refineries with new ones can be built. Mexico would get a small cut of profits, and it would be needed as we bypass California and let them go their own way.
