Biden announced $770 one-time payments for victims of the California wildfires as part of the efforts to provide federal support amid the raging fires.

The president said that nearly 6,000 survivors have already registered for the program and $5.1 million has gone out.

Not quite sure how the 6,000 that registered equates to a $5.1 million payout, must be some new Democrat math. Nevertheless, these folks shouldn't spend all the money in one place.

That's Democrat math. 6,000*770 = $4.62 mil. Once again, just about 10% of the money is missing and unaccounted for. Imagine that!

Let us remember how Trump handled California fires.

Trump Refused Aid for California Wildfires Until He Was Showed How Many of His Voters Lived There

According to reporting from Politico, Donald Trump as President initially refused to provide aid to California to assist with deadly wildfires until an aide showed him how many of his voters lived in the state.

During the disastrous 2018 wildfire season, Donald Trump's initial response was to deny a request from California for federal disaster aid. According to two former Trump White House aides, that decision was political; Trump refused to help because of California's heavily Democratic leanings. Trump publicly blamed the state government for the fires, and said better mitigation measures were needed, like "raking the forest."

An investigation from Politico found that on at least three occasions Trump hesitated to give disaster aid to areas he considered politically hostile, or conversely, ordered special treatment for pro-Trump states.

Ultimately Trump was persuaded to change his mind on California, however, when Mark Harvey, Trump’s senior director for resilience policy on the National Security Council staff, showed Trump that he had more voters in Orange County, California alone than the entire state of Iowa.

"We went as far as looking up how many votes he got in those impacted areas…to show him 'these are people who voted for you,'" Harvey said.

The 2018 wildfire season in CA resulted in 103 confirmed fatalities, 24,226 structures damaged or destroyed, and at least $26.34 billion in property damage and firefighting costs.

Wow, that is a 10% increase over the payments N. Carolinians got! But if you do the math, it sounds like they are really only getting $700 and the 770 was a typo.
What can Palisadians used to spending $3,000 a day do with that $700?
  • That will cover one dinner for two at the restaurants in LA they typically visit.
  • That should pay about 1 day's worth property tax on their burned out property.
  • That will just about pay for the parking picket the city of LA left on their windshield for parking their car where cops told them to and fleeing the city.

They have used fuzzy math for decades.
