It is a common practice. A fine dining restaurant in California was just trying to attract in more ladies by having a weekly Ladies Night where they were afforded a discount or something to come in.
It was working great. It was very popular. The food was great. Business was booming. Everyone was happy. Well, almost.

Then a group of attorneys stepped in to put the business in their place and sued them for discrimination with the full backing of the State of California.

That'll teach those malfeasant restaurateurs. The cost of the litigation has forced the restaurant closed. California wins. How dare they have a Ladies Night. The very idea--- who gets to decide what is a "lady?" One less restaurant for California. One less taxpaying base. One more boarded up storefront. One more restaurant to move out of the state elsewhere where sanity and freedom rule. Gavin Newsom marches on, another feather of "victory" in his cap. He showed them who is boss.

The more of these narcissistic induced statist left marxinazi profe$$ional Politician$/trial attorney$ & rank & file statist left lefties that we can get to drop their U.S. citizenship & become citizens of Commiefornia the less of them will remain in our America. Gotta get that southern border wall finished so we can get started on the border walls on Commiefornia's east & northern borders. Once completed it's a simple matter for the Capital Hill gang to strike Commiefornia off as a state, pres. Trump sign it into law & presto the simple simon statist left marxinazi savages have their own prison state dream come true! East & north of the Commiefornia wall the more cultured/civilized constitutionally based conservatives/Libertarians will be enjoying their constitutionally guaranteed individual liberties like it's a win/win situation for all involved!

Can we expect to see senior and child menu options/prices the next item for attack ???

What about pricing discounts to active military or veterans, such as at movie theaters?
Or "senior" discounts at retail and theaters?

I don't care about what happens to restaurants frankly as we make it a rule to not eat out as the food is always substandard.

What happens in California has zero affect on the rest of the nation.

Politically and socially California is the tail that wags the dog.
My state, Washington, like many others has applied the CA standards to automobiles and especially emissions.
Also we've had a huge influx of those fleeing and leaving CA. Some are conservatives who've given up and/or can't tolerate living in the state anymore.
Others are the very mindset that has screwed CA, but don't realize it was their idiocy that did such, so have fled their results and now infect my and other states.

Sounds like you don't know how to find and pick restaurants that make good to excellent food.

As one of several examples that come to mind, there is a place that makes excellent pho, which wife and I enjoy and have yet to equal in our kitchen.

A group of ambulance chasing lawyers decided to abuse a poorly written law for some extra cash.

Lawyers are about as unscrupulous as you can get.

This is normal in Kalifornia, also done with ADA laws. Indeed, there is at least one shit-stirring terd who was a professional plaintiff-Jarek Molski. He shut down the (long predating the ADA) Roy's Drive In in Salinas after 40+ years, the Hungry Fisherman in Morro Bay after 30, and filed FOUR SUITS A WEEK for two years, before (finally) being slapped down in 2005. An unrelated terd got 105-year-old landmark On Lock Sam's shut down in 2004-the owners (same family since 1900) didn't want to risk seven-figure fines, so they just closed.

It's normal all over the US. Lawyers do this shit.
