What's the 'bullhorn' with a thread quote for?

What's the 'bullhorn' with a thread quote for?

I think it's there so that it will cause someone to ask “What's the 'bullhorn' with a thread quote for?”, causing that question itself to be displayed after the bullhorn, creating a recursive effect.

And it appears to have worked.

Yeah I saw that but, it still doesn't explain what it is for. Apparently it highlights certain replies in a thread. Just wondering how it decides to do that. Is it a mod thing or some automatic posting?

It does explain what it's for, and demonstrates that in at least this one example, it worked exactly as intended.

Perhaps being caught in the resulting vortex has prevented you from being able to see that.

I must be lost in the wormhole then, because I still have no clue what it's for.

Believe me, I'm just as confused and wondering exactly the same thing. :/
