We chuckle at this, but it raises an important issue. How many times does society and LE breath a sigh of relief when we find a dead body that we can credibly accuse of murder? We don't have to have a trial, we don't have to prove they are guilty, we don't have to do any of that. We can just say, "Yup, we got 'em, let's meet at the bar for a celebration", and move on.
