Apparently there was a link between the killer an the MIT professor....OK, I'm all ears.
However, if the killer had the MIT professor on his hit list and wanted to take him out (for whatever reason), why go to Brown first and shoot it up? What possible reason could he have for doing that? Wouldn't that just complicate Job #1 at MIT?
That's not making any sense to me. Something isn't right here but since they put a "case closed' bow on it all we will never know.
