What all Americans crave when in the UK, the Sunday roast -
British and Europeans go for meat with taste on their BBQ's.
Did you make sweet potato and marshmallow pie!.
The highlight of my month-long stay in England was fulfilling my host's request for a traditional American Thanksgiving Day feast.
I can still feel the bonding we did over that dinner. They loved it! Two days of cooking and the obvious frustrations of trying to find certain ingredients in the store was well worth it to share that dinner with them.

Tbh, I prefer a fondue as opposed to a BBQ. If I put a steak on a BBQ, I have to Sous Vide it the day before. It is forever fascinating to watch and listen to huge fat slabs / slobs of Americans criticise others ---- a people who usually have little sense of real humour and who tend to be "rather slow on the uptake ".
It is now rumoured that average American IQ has fallen below the figure for Australians .
So beware of ever joining activities where both countries are represented .
That is what WW3 possibilities are all about .

Girlfriend has sweet potato now and then, I don't. Marshmallow is dreadful, I always make sure Costa don't put them on if I order a hot chocolate. It's more of the texture that I can't get away with..
I did make sweet potato pie, but no marshmallows.
Whipped double cream on top was almost a religious experience! We have to actually search a bit to find double cream in the US.

We forever had turkey, brussel sprouts, potatoes croquettes, roast potatoes, mash potatoes, carrots, swede, gravy, yorkshire puds, pigs in blankets, and cranberry sauce at Christmas. I now prefer duck and beef because just so fed up of turkey.
I shop at Morrisons, I thought all supermarkets stocked it. Normally brand and shops own version on the shelves. Cranberry sauce and apple sauce are my toto sauces for meat..
Wow! I'm surprised about the cranberry sauce, because it was one of the things I had most trouble finding at ASDA, where I did most of my shopping.
The other thing was French fried onions to top the green bean (French bean) casserole. Delectable little crunchy things! I had to fake it and try making them myself, and mine turned out limp and greasy. Nonetheless, my guests LOVED the casserole.
The one thing in which I like marshmallow is Rocky Road ice cream -- a ribbon of marshmallow cream meandering through deep chocolate ice cream, with nuts.

The girlfriend makes Cadbury chocolate sundae when my lads cone to visit. Puddings are her forte! Sliced banana in custard is damn nice. Mother used to serve green beans but just boiled with a little salt.
