His ideas are deeply flawed, starting with the materialistic determinism which early 19th century educated types thought described the behavior of the universe, and today which we now know is false. The universe is neither materialistic nor is it deterministic though it is still causal. Marx's analysis of the effect the capitalization of labor has was flawed in that it failed to take into account the introduction of new technologies and services and how that restarts capitalization essentially at zero to re-open opportunity for those willing to change trades. He was mistaken to simplify history into substantially nothing more than economic advances, dismissing other causal forces as insignificant compared to the class struggle over the means of production. The positive impact that Judeo-Christianity had was largely invisible to him as well as the impact of the great thinkers and leaders whose ideas enabled many things ahead of their natural time. To Marxism Leonidas, Alexander the Great, Moses, Jesus, Mohamed were only significant in how they impacted class consciousness and economic forces.
