Some of the Jewish people have absolutely lived in a Diaspora for a long period of time. Duh. This is not rocket science. The argument (suitable for another thread, not this one) is whether or not people have a right to return and re-constitute their sovereignty on indigenous territory. The international community and international law, at the time, agreed that the Jewish people, did, indeed, have that right.
