The ceasefire between Israel and Iran that was agreed to 6 hours ago was violated by Iran merely 12 minutes after going into effect. The language said Iran would stop at 12 AM EDT. Iran had launched five waves of missiles before the 12 AM cutoff, but now it appears Iran has simply ignored the ceasefire altogether by launching a sixth.

This series of CNN articles is really pretty good giving regular updates to the situation to the current time. It looks like the cease fire is holding. If it does I suspect the news accounts will stop using the term 'fragile'.

The problem with any cease fire is everybody doesn't always get the message and there will be residual incidents. It happened in Germany with several combat incidents after Germany surrendered. It happened with the Japanese after they formally gave up the fight. That may be the case here with Israel and Iran.

But this week will no doubt tell the tale. Right now the market is betting on the cease fire and peace. The Dow is up almost 500. And oil prices continue to drop.
