A federal judge, U.S. District Judge Gordon P. Gallagher, issued an order on June 4, 2025, halting the deportation of the wife and five children of Mohamed Sabry Soliman, the Egyptian man charged in the antisemitic firebombing attack in Boulder, Colorado 123567.

The family members were taken into federal custody by immigration authorities but have not been implicated in the attack 127.

The judge ruled that deportation without due process could cause irreparable harm and emphasized the urgency of protecting the family's constitutional rights 357.

The family’s attorneys argued that it is unlawful to penalize individuals for the actions of their relatives, calling such practices collective punishment that violates democratic justice principles 35.
