Like him or not he made great music..... he had so much talent....he will always be remembered.

This ranks right up there of how I felt when Elvis, and John Lennon died.

Or even earlier, when say Buddy Holly and Patsy Cline died.

Good one...Buddy Holly was another genre changer, and another example of a true artist that refused to change his music to fit the record execs demands for "more sellable" music.

I was going to add, I'm not greatly into 1950s music, except Free Jazz and Avant-Garde Classical obviously....the stuff that's not Free Jazz or Avant-Garde Classical that I do like is Link Wray and His Wraymen, completely awe-inspiring noise Link Wray created, he like David Bowie, utterly unique in sound.
