I found the lawsuit. As usual the OP was bamboozled by the “Gateway Pundit,” and was too lazy to look beyond the headlines.

First, the lawsuit was a civil suit and not a Criminal Complaint.

Second, there are no “charges.”

Third, neither James nor Hotchul were sued individually.

For the record, I am against New York’s Green Light Law though I do see some hypocrisy on the part of the right in spouting about states’ rights and then suing a state for exercising states’ rights.

She's suing New York because she doesn't like that State law requires the federal government to get a warrant before they go accessing the personal information of New York State residents.
