Looks like Biden’s first foreign policy proposal has been rejected by Brazil.

saying Biden "stated yesterday that he could pay us as much as US$20 billion to stop the 'destruction' of the Amazon Rainforest adding that, if we did not accept this offer, he would then impose serious economic sanctions on our country."

Bolsonaro wrote that he "unlike the left-wing presidents of the past, does not accept bribes, criminal land demarcations or coward threats toward our territorial and economic integrity," adding that Brazil's sovereignty was non-negotiable.

Looks like a “President” Biden would need to find some other way than threatening, bullying, or bribing to accomplish foreign policy.

The Monitoring of the Andean Amazon Project (MAAP), an initiative of the group Amazon Conservation, has used an archive of satellite data to track deforestation across the Brazilian Amazon and found that most of last year's fires occurred on recently deforested land, rather than in primary forest. Deforested land is often intentionally burned to clear it for farming and cattle ranching.

So the only thing he said in the debate that was somewhat sentical - he can not accomplish, although president Trump in all likelihood already has.

50 years of failure folks.
