It is a clearly bad development that over two dozen Democrat members of Congress are planning to boycott the State of the Union address tonight. I call on them and I hope many other Americans do likewise to reverse their decision and attend! Their position is just but it is not good! Listen I agree that President Donld Trump is a disgrace upon words he is a political plague upon America. If leaders of our Country are doing what is best for America and the American people after this President's term they will commence and expeditiously carry out a process to amend the U.S. Constitution in at least about ten areas so the country will never see an authoritarian person like President Trump get in and operate like him in the White House. The Amendments should ban the President from unilaterally changing the names of geographical areas of America, from changing the name of Presidential monuments and any Department, Agency and the like that is part of or affiliated with the U.S. government, specify that the Attorney General not the President is the top law enforcement officer in the United States and that the President is limited to setting broad policy at the DOJ and the AG cannot be removed from office for two years after being confirmed unless for gross incompetence or malfeasance or a new President has taken office, that Inspector Generals throughout the government are to be appointed for six year terms and cannot be removed from office except for gross incompetence or malfeasance, etc..
It is often reported that In the U.S. military members are to always respect the rank even if they don't respect the man or women holding the rank. This principle should apply to President Trump Democrats should attend the SOTU to respect that office because by doing so they are respecting the Democratic process which the country needs respected if it is to survive and do well! Even if a President is reprehensible members of Congress should still engage with that President and try to get legislation through and other policy changes through that improve things for the American people that is what the government system of America places a duty on their elected officials in America to do America will always be a diverse country because it is so large members of Congress need to stay fully engaged if the government is to work best for the American people!
