Both parties will have mid-term conventions! Is that a good idea? Who will win the "Better Convention" Poll?

If conventions are held, which party will win the policy debate?

Its not official yet, but if either party has a convention the other party is forced to.

I support conventions to broadcast the policy differences between the parties.

We can list the various policies that voters will be considering.

Republicans:
End Home Rule for DC
Election Reform: only US citizens on verified voter rolls can vote in any election, ID required, signature matching required, mail-in by excuse only, only votes received by the official poll closing times can be counted. Results must be posted within 12-hrs of polls closing
Balanced Budget required, w/o using SS funds, unless in time of declared war
To ensure that apportionment of Representatives be set by counting only US citizens
To make the (60 vote) filibuster in the Senate a part of the Constitution
To allow the President a "line-item veto"
Social Security and Medicare must be made whole, i.e. "fixed" and only those who contributed can get benefits
Set term limits in the House and Senate, 8-years for House members, and 12-years for the Senate.
Clarify the 14th Amendment that only US citizens can make a US citizen. (otherwise we get "anchor babies from Russia, China, and Mexico.)
The US Supreme court shall have not more than 9 justices.
Immigration reform, no longer admit for fleeing oppression, only merit-based immigration as approved.

Democrats:
Put up or shut up...winning policies

Release the Epstein Lust, er I meant List

All sounds good on the surface but Republicans fight against spending cuts and decreases to government like Soviets at Stalingrad

I thought Ken Martin's idea was kind of funny but now both parties are showing interest, so we'll see if this plays out. The idea is growing on me.

If they'd focus on policies, that would be interesting.

I'd guess the Dems might want to give exposure to some of their 2026 congressional candidates and potential 2028 presidential candidates who don't have much name recognition yet.

I think the Republicans would also talk about 2026 candidates and give their 2028 favorites like Vance and Rubio a big presence. Of course, they'd likely discuss their second term accomplishments and remaining goals for the latter half of the term also.

I guess that’s why Trump doesn’t mind us constantly talking about the Epstein files.
Talk all you want, about anything you want, nothing affects Trump.
Your bigger problem is that nasty 19% approval.

I never hear Dems talking about 19%, just MAGA. They only think about protecting their at best pedo-adjacent god-king.
Dems are ashamed of their 19%, of course they won't talk about it.

Job approval for congressional Democrats hits all-time low: ‘Flat out terrible’

How can you democrats even dare criticize Trump who has a 54% approval?
You should be thanking Trump for saving the US from the democrat's reckless borrowing and spending.

54% approval is a lie. I don’t give credit to Trump for giving tax breaks to billionaires while burdening the 99% with taxes in the form of tariffs.

15th post
MAGA is using an out of date poll by quite a bit.

The latest poll has the Dems at 32 and climbing quickly. They will need to. Trump's terrible polling is ... terrible!

Here is the 54% approval, its not a lie.

Trump didn't give a new tax break for billionaires. He just extended the existing tax rates.

Everyone pays tariffs, but only if they buy imported products, not just the 99% whoever they are.

You really need to stop lying.

It is not good for the consumers, no matter how you try to cover it up.
