Boston Celtics Mt. Rushmore?

Auerbach, Havlicek, Cousy, Bird, McHale.

I know that's five but Rushmore isn't finished.

There's room for Reagan

Wow, can't argue with any of the choices, so far.

All deserving.
WTF are you talking about?

How the hell can you have a Celtics Mt. Rushmore without Bill Russell?

Wow, calm down, Billo.

I just agreed with ALL of the choices I saw.

I don't see how you could come up with just FOUR Celtics for a "Mt. Rushmore", without leaving a Celtics great out of the mix.

Russell, Cousy, Bird, Auerbach, Havlicek, and McHale are all obvious picks.

What about Paul Pierce?

Robert Parrish?

Dave Cowens?

JoJo White?

Dennis Johnson?

The unfinished career of Reggie Lewis?

How about Tommy Heinsohn, and what he has meant to the Celtics? Great player, great coach, and great broadcaster. Tommy BLEEDS Celtic green.

Add in K.C. Jones, too. LONG career with the Celtics, as a player and a coach.

How good would Len Bias have been?

How can anybody possibly narrow it down to a "top four"?

If you could have a "Mt. Rushmore" with about EIGHT Celtics players, that would make things a little easier.

First of all, take Auerbach off the list. Nobody cares about coaches.

Russell, Cousy, and Bird are definitely on. But there are probably a dozen who can make a strong argument for #4.

Vince Lombardi?

Phil Jackson?

Tom Landry?

Paul Brown?

Bill Walsh?

Joe Torre?

Scotty Bowman?

John McGraw?

The list goes on and on and on...............

Yep, these coaches don't mean anything.

What, no Bailey Howell?

Oh, the humanity!

Coaches matter, but they don't score points, block shots, steal the ball, or even shoot foul shots. They get their own rewards and awards. "Mt Rushmore" is for great players.

When have you ever seen a coach get paid more than the best player on the team? That's all you need to notice.
