It's my view that the people screaming for a wall are no diifferent than the ones blaming all of the mass shooting on guns.
If in one breath you argue that taking away guns won't stop criminals, and in the other breath say that putting up a wall will stop criminals, where is the logic?
Criminals gonna crime no matter what. And, as always, the freedoms of law abiding citizens are the ones targeted.
While claiming that other people show a lack of logic, you display and utter dearth of logic. You compare building a wall to restricting access to weapons which aren't even remotely comparable.
First off, seeking asylum isn't a crime. Crossing the border to seek asylum isn't a crime. Asylum seekers aren't criminals.
People who oppose the wall, are people who KNOW that the wall isn't a solution. "Build the wall" was an idea to remind Donald Trump to talk about immigration at his rallies. Chant happy Trumpists starting chanting "Build the wall", but this was never a policy that Trump gave a second's thought for until the idea proved popular with his followers.
Had Trump looked at what happened when W attempted to build a wall, he might have been smarter about this. No cost studies, short or long term, no idea of whether it will work or not - and what about the eminent domain cases still outstanding from W's attempt to build a wall.
Building a wall just because Trump's supporters liked the idea is a piss poor reason for spending $50 billion and who knows how much more to man it and maintain it, because no wall has ever worked unless it's manned 24/7 every 100 feet or so. And that's a physical impossibility along a 3000 miles border.
Opposing the waste of money that is Trump's wall does not mean that anyone is in favour of "open borders". It simply means that we're smart enough to know that most illegal immigrants some in through the airports, not the southern borders.
