Over the past couple of weeks, Boehner has shown that he is truly bad at his job.
First, he refuses to take the Senate bill to a vote, instead opting to fund DHS only for the next 3 weeks, and includes a bunch of immigration riders to the bill to shut down Obama.
Next..........The Senate seeing that the House is about to drive this country over a cliff reconvene and pass a clean bill funding the DHS for another week, hoping that the House would come to it's senses.
Well.............Boehner failed to get the necessary votes for his bill, and it failed, even though the GOP has a majority in the House. When that bill was voted down, Boehner opts instead to vote for the clean bill that funds DHS for another week, hoping that somehow he can start getting an indication as to what the courts are going to do (which is why he wanted the 3 week bill in the first place).
Then.........this week, after lots of talk about how bad it would be if DHS were left unfunded, Boehner finally comes to his senses and gets the House to vote on the clean bill from the Senate that funds DHS for the rest of the year.
Yep..............Boehner and the GOP got their asses handed to them over these past couple of weeks.
Gonna be even more interesting to see what happens with the ACA and SCOTUS in the next few weeks. I'm guessing that it's going to be found to be lawful, because if they say that it's not and shut it down, over 8.5 million people will lose healthcare that they had previously, which is going to translate into a lot of angry voters in 2016 that vote Dem, not to mention what it's going to do to the healthcare industry (the top 5 insurance providers have seen their stock increase anywhere from 19 to 34 percent since implementation of the ACA), as well as healthcare costs.
But....................because the GOP doesn't have a plan for the ACA (just like they didn't when it came to immigration and DHS funding), and they're gonna cave yet again.
So much for the GOP majority that was supposed to get things done this Congress.
