Bodycam video shows Andrew Brown Jr. didn't drive into deputies who shot him, lawyers say: "He did just the opposite"
The family's lawyers say the footage contradicts statements by the local DA, who said that deputies didn't start firing until after Brown's vehicle struck them twice.

"Lawyers for relatives of Andrew Brown Jr., a Black man fatally shot by deputies, said Tuesday that body camera videos show that he didn't strike them with his car before they opened fire, contradicting a local prosecutor. The family's lawyers say the footage contradicts statements by the local district attorney, who said in court that deputies didn't start firing until after Brown's vehicle struck them twice. Lynch's description aligns with what another family attorney said after seeing the shorter clip.
"We did not see any actions on Mr. Brown's part where he made contact with them or tried to go in their direction," Lynch told reporters. "In fact, he did just the opposite. While there was a group of law enforcement that were in front of him, he went the opposite direction."
So when everyone was making a big deal about why the police only allowed the family to see just 20 seconds of footage; it was obviously because the rest of the footage so overwhelmingly proved how justified the shooting was -- that they didn't want to be rude and rub it in the face of the family that way...Yet, despite being shown even more footage, the family and their lawyers still insist on lying and trying to paint the police out to be the bad guys in this situation...
You can't just go and lie like that in the public about the police; you can't just claim a certain law enforcement agency is wrong or somehow part of some nefarious conspiracy without proof -- (unless they are the FBI or DOJ, etc) -- these lawyers who went out in public and lied, these family members who went out in public and lied -- they should all be charged with slander, obstruction, or just something that punishes them for being disrespectful of law enforcement that way.
