Black Republicans

The only people that are helped by big government liberal welfare disenfranchisement policies are Democrats running for office who need a never ending pool of victims to vote for them. "Keep em down and keep emDemocrat."

Yep, follow the example set by LBJ. Free stuff buys votes. Keep em poor so they need free stuff. Its amazes me that the libs on this site cannot grasp that simple concept.

What makes you think that? Seems to me they grasp it perfectly: keep perpetuating the welfare state and you have a ready-made group of straight-party Democrat voters.

Back in 1984' after Reagan had been re-elected in a huge landslide , one of Tip O'Neil's colleagues in the House said to him, "I'm afraid we have made our grand kids a bunch of Republicans." This was reference to his belief that the New Deal and Great Society programs were responsible for one generation lifting out of poverty, and the next growing up middle class. If that be the case, then can we not expect more Black Republicans in the next 20 years? The fallacy in the Congressmans thinking was that liberal policies and affirmative action programs actually lift people up the economic ladder. I feel what happened in the 1980's was that people realized that they had achieved success through hard work and self reliance...not big government. I have a feeling that over time millions of successful Blacks will realize that it was their hard work that gave them success, not liberal Democrats. Ergo, an increase in Black Republicans.

Large numbers of black people will never join a party that seems to be filled with angry conservative white people.

Which is Alan West--------angry, or white? How about Tim Scott and Mia Love? The dem party and its black support has been destroyed by Obama's lies and failures. Deal with it and stop lying.

West? Crazy as hell. Don't know Scott, and Aunt Mia? Nuff said.

Could you please provide the date of the last big financial crash and then in 25 words or less, please explain why it happened?

OK, but first tell me who wrote and sponsored Dodd/Frank

I'll answer for him, Chris Dodd and Barney Frank. What do either have to do with anything discussed in this thread?

Why? What does that have to do with the Great Recession? Is it your intent to obfuscate?

Meanwhile, out of 43 blacks in Congress, only one is Republican.

Yep, because every time a GOP Black candidate runs the Dems smear them with lies, unmercifully.
They can't have their apple cart upset.

You guys amuse me...

Barack Obama

You whip out Uncle Herman. But we found a black man!

Hillary Clinton

You whip out Palin. Look we got a ditzy dumb woman!

Julian Castro

Lookie! We found a crazy Canadian named Cruz!

I agree, but the other poster thinks blacks who leave the dem plantation should be punished, just like runaway slaves were punished.

The racism here is coming from the left. To think that everyone of any race MUST follow the instructions of their racist "leaders" is the height of racism.

So you are saying that the right has never had any racists in office? Or running for office?

Sure they have, so have the left----------Robert KKK Byrd, Al Gore Sr, John Stennis, Hughey Long, Lester Maddox, and most famously LBJ (I'll have them ******* voting democrat for the next 200 years").
LBJ signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964, you know, the one that gave black people the right to vote.
Then there was Strom Thurmond.
Strom Thurmond - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Thurmond switched parties because of his opposition to the 1964 Civil Rights Act, disaffection with the liberalism of the national party, and his support for the conservatism and opposition to the Civil Rights bill of the Republican presidential candidate Senator Barry Goldwater.[2][3]

While only part of the equation, your post is spot on.

The Declaration of Independence may say that "...all men are created equal.." but that doesn't mean they all start out in the same place.

If you actually think a kid growing up in Grosse Pointe doesn't have an extreme advantage over a kid from the inner city of Detroit, then you probably have lived your entire life in a cornfield a thousand miles away from both.

Conservative policies have kept the poor poor and made the rich richer, eventually to the detriment of all.

Funny that you use Detroit for your attempt at analogy. Detroit has been run by democrats, liberals, unions, and minorities for decades. Are you proud of what that once great city has become under the leadership that you support?

Ahahaha....True to your avatar, you really know how to take the bait and deflect.

Answer my question. Do you think a kid in northeast Houston has the same starting points as a kid in River Oaks? East central L.A. - Malibu? North Philadelphia - Main Line? San Francisco - Oakland?

You don't think that just the public education systems alone in the wealthier neighborhoods don't get better funding than the poor neighborhoods?

No, they don't. Where I live in New Jersey most of the kids go to private school, but just south of me in Trenton the teachers don't even have text books for their kids. They go to the library several times a week, take the text book being used and run 30-40 copies of several chapters and pass them out to the class for the week. If you go further south to Cherry Hill, New Jersey, the kids in public schools have text books. So explain that one to me.

Of course they don't. The son of the leader of the cave man group had a better chance than the son of the lowest member.

Government cannot fix that. What can fix it is a booming economy. Putting people on welfare does not get them out of poverty, it ensures that they will spend their entire lives there.

Oh? What lies did Democrats spread about Herman Cain?
Pointing out how many responses I got to that question. :dunno:

The best way to identify a black republican is the content of his character. Compare Sharpton to Carson.

boedicca disagrees with my post, but yet, no one has been able to list the "lies" the left "unmercifully smeared" Cain with? :dunno:

Sounds like more rightwing manufactured hysteria to me. :mm:

You would think then that Republicans would elect more blacks to Congress, yet they elected only one. Only 6 over the last 100 years. In the last election alone, Democrats elected 42 blacks to Congress.

I prefer quality to quantity.

Again, I see more Black Republicans in the future of the party because there are Christian Conservatives who may have voted for Obama because it was an obligatory vote of history, but will not forgive Hillary and other liberals the same way on abortion issue.
