Andrew36: you should always check your facts, and give links to them, before posting something as a fact. Here's the Wiki entry relevant to Black attitudes towards gay marriage and other social issues:
My guess is that Blacks think same-sex marriage doesn't affect them much, so why not? And on the other hand, the other social issues -- mainly the breakdown of the Black family -- do.
People who are angry at Andrew36 should consider if there is anything true at all about what he is saying.
Let me put it this way: anyone who knows anything at all about it knows that the Black condition in America is not a good one, especially for ordinary Black people. From the same Wiki article:

So, the question that any serious person should ask, is ... why? And what can we do about it?
I think that there are two wrong answers here, both of which may have some truth to them, but which cannot explain the current situation of Blacks.
The first wrong explanation is: it's in their genes, that's just the way they are. (We could have an interesting and useful discussion of the role of genes in human behavior, but maybe elsewhere.) I'll just assert that this doesn't explain the central problems.
The second wrong explanation is: it's due to current white racism. If all Blacks could change their skin color and other 'Black' features overnight, they would be fine. I believe this also has some truth to it, but it's not an explanation of the central problem.
Rather, what we need ... and are unlikely to get, unfortunately ... is a 'cultural revolution' among Black youth, especially males.
I'll give you an example: I have liberal friends in Seattle who could not have children, so they adopted a little girl from India. Being good liberals, when she came of age, they put her in the public school system, in a school which has some Black kids. These kids accepted her as one of them.
But ... she was probably naturally pretty bright, and her parents are well-educated people, so she started to excel in class: first one with her hand up, etc. And ... the Black kids didn't like it! ("You actin' white!" was how they put it.)
Peer pressure among young people is far far more important than what parents can do, or the school. So imagine if you're a bright young Black person, facing that sort of pressure from your peers.
Academics have studied this phenomenon: here's a good article by one of them (who is Black, by the way):

So ... how can we change this terrible reality?
I don't have much time for the Nation of Islam in the US -- the "Black Muslims". [ Muhammad University of Islam - Wikipedia ] But I'll bet in their schools, "Acting Black" means striving for academic success. I read somewhere that some non-Muslim Black parents try to get their children into these schools, because of the better discipline.
(If anyone knows of studies of their academic results, I'd be grateful for the links.)

This is exactly how leftists like the OP regard rural Americans.
It's shocking when an elitist leftist shows their true colors regarding their supposed "allies"...but insert any resident of rural middle America in any one of these statements and they believe it is equally true...but not a single person would be shocked by it in the way they are in this thread.
I've said many times that the inner-city Black community has much more in common with us than they do with those on the left... This is just one more example.

Except most modern African immigrants are actually much more refined, mannered, conscientious and disciplined than most African Americans whose families have been here awhile. Not always, but usually. One good friend of mine is of the latter variety. Great lady. I like her buckets more than most of the white people I know.

As for things in common, yes -- depending. Many of the leadership stratum of the Black community understand that their problems are not just the result of current white prejudice, but require a deep cultural change among their youth. That's one reason they (the older, responsible adults) are still religious, and have conservative values.
For privileged white college kids, drugs and promiscuous sex are no big deal -- further down the social ladder, they can wreck your life. fThus the conservative values.
