Bascially, yes, Trump and his minions are going after higher education, places full of people who do not support him.
The man is certifiable and is President of the United States. He needs to be committed somewhere and start cognitive therapy
There appears to be some friction building up between Beijing & the District of Columbia for sure.

Admittedly, some may want to seek asylum and they should be considered. However, if they have any family or relatives still living in China this would put those lives at risk.

On "Rob Schmitt Tonight," Chang said, "The American people misperceive the challenge and the assault from China, and especially, our political class does — both Republicans and Democrats. I wanted to lay out what the Chinese actually say about us.

Chang also said former President Donald Trump scared "the bejesus" out of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
"Xi Jinping, although he's an aggressor, he actually behaved for the four years of the Trump administration because he didn't know what the president of the United States was going to do with our power. Under [Joe] Biden, he knows exactly what the president would do," he said.

That's a large part of the situation.
But China has chosen a direction that the West has been blind to.
The West needs to stop all funding to/buying from China.
50+ years of "nice guy" to China has gotten the West screwed. If we continue such, the West may be dead, soon.
Xi Jinping may be slipping in his control over China, which would make him desperate. Perhaps enough so to start the war before the end of 2027.
