The suspect was an owner/partner in a failing security firm. That's why he had access to police gear, and the black SUV he used. A radicalized anti-abortionist, and a man who was leading a double life. He presented as a devout Christian, successful entrepreneur and solid citizen, but he was a radical extremist who believed he was doing "God's work". His behaviour over the years has been odd, and extreme, but he had been planning this for a while, and he was really well prepared.
