Todays inflation numbers show a meaningful reduction in headline inflation over last month. We are making progress in slowing the rate of price increases. But there is still more work to do -- I remain focused on lowering costs for families and maintaining strong economic growth.

November's monthly rate of 0.8% inflation was also the highest inflation since 1982. December's rate of 0.5% was in fact lower, but it's bizarre to boast, "At least last month we didn't beat a 40 year old record."

Perhaps "President" (lol) Biden should brag some more -- now it's announced that the Producer Price Index, the producer-side inflation metric, widely believed to be a more accurate gauge of inflation than the Consumer Price Index -- rose nearly ten percent in 2021, the highest level since we started coming out of the Little Depression of 2007-2008.

But wait! That’s not all!

Funemployment claims rose again last week.

On average, real wages declined 2.4% from December 2020 to December 2021
Workers have gotten effective pay cuts in year 1 of the Biden presidency

Let’s go Brandon!
