I still don't fully understand polar isolation vs taking the heat out of the ocean because the sun is cooler?

Thermal isolation, not polar isolation. The sun isn't cooler. Orbital cycles are a red herring. Lots of evidence for AMOC switch off and solid modeling for what happens when it does. Orbital cycles... not so much.

If the polar regions are effected by how hot the aether is and how fast the planet spins, could this be an underlying cause of oceans change in temperature?

No. Thermohaline circulation. Look it up. Nature abhors a vacuum so to speak. Salinity and temperature differences will equilibrate. That's what is driving the ocean's currents which affects how currents distribute heat.

I believe it’s an artifact of their thermal isolation from warm marine currents. So yes.
