As far as war movies go I know nothing beats Saving Pvt. Ryan's opening scene but there are others.

Some say Matthew Broderick was too young but Shaw was but 24 himself at Antietam.

The 2nd Massachusetts fought in/around the Cornfield at Antietam. My ancestors with the Stonewall Brigade were in the West Woods under Grigsby.

I don't know if it's the best, but in my opinion, the opening scene of the film named Face Off starring Nicholas Cage and John Travolta is an unforgettable one.

God bless you and the two legend actors always!!!

For 1977, I just about broke my chair falling over backwards!

there are many. some i like are in Bumblebee, Terminator 2, and Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.

There are many. Some of the James bond movies opening scenes are good. If a little cheesy.

I actually thought Oppenheimer had one of the best opening scenes I have seen in a long time.

I always loved the opening scene to Martin Scorsese's Casino.
