Right now the Republicans control 33 state legislatures. Now you can try to get them to support a constitutional amendment to get rid of the electoral college but chances are the only one they will support is the secession of California. In the meantime they will be drawing the new representative maps guaranteeing a Republican majority in the house until 2030.
